- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup Dutch process cocoa powder

- Lower the oven temperature to 325°F. Prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by spraying it with non-stick spray and lining it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk granulated sugar, eggs, and egg yolk until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
- Mix in melted butter and vanilla extract until combined.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in half of the roasted cherries and chocolate chips gently.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 40–50 minutes until edges are set but center is slightly underdone.
- Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
